The latest edition of the prestigious ranking has seen six coffee shops from the Middle East secure their places among the top 100 globally.
On February 16, 2026, during CoffeeFest Madrid, the second edition of The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops was unveiled, highlighting a significant achievement for the Middle Eastern coffee scene. The United Arab Emirates made a notable impact with two establishments featured in the global Top 100, further establishing its reputation as a burgeoning hub for specialty coffee. Additionally, Qatar and Oman celebrated their inaugural entries into this esteemed ranking, while Turkey's Meet Lab Coffee made a return, reflecting the region's expanding influence in the international coffee community.
The list illustrates the rise of new global centers for quality coffee and showcases a diverse and innovative coffee culture that spans various continents. The United States led the ranking with nine coffee shops, while regions such as South America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East were also represented.
The Middle Eastern coffee shops that earned recognition in the Top 100 include Benchmark Coffee and Cypher Urban Roastery from the UAE, Harvest Coffee from Qatar, Azura – The Coffee Company from Oman, and Flat White Specialty Coffee from Qatar. These establishments exemplify the growing quality and creativity within the region's coffee industry.
The ranking process involved the assessment of over 800 judges from around the world, complemented by public voting that garnered more than 350,000 votes. In total, more than 15,000 coffee shops were evaluated, making this ranking a significant benchmark for the industry. The initiative aims to celebrate coffee shops that not only serve exceptional brews but also provide unique experiences for their patrons.
