Global Youth Multicultural Forum Highlights Xizang Culture in Singapore and Malaysia
From December 19 to 23, 2026, the Global Youth Multicultural Forum - Asia Session took place in Singapore and Malaysia, focusing on the theme "Diverse Civilizations, Shared Community." This event was co-hosted by the International Culture Association of the Xizang Autonomous Region and the Center for International Cultural Communication (CICG). In Singapore, the forum centered around the theme "Hearing the Yarlung Zangbo Through the Voice of Youth," while in Malaysia, discussions revolved around "Cultures as The Way: Youth Mission in Heritage Preservation." The forum featured keynote speeches and round-table dialogues, with contributions from 15 experts and scholars who shared their insights on cultural and tourism integration, cultural communication, ecological charm, and international exchanges. These discussions aimed to provide diverse perspectives and practical wisdom for fostering cross-cultural interactions. The event also showcased cultural and artistic performances from Xizang, China, alongside an exhibition that displayed photographs documenting the region's development over the decades. These artistic expressions and visual narratives offered attendees a deeper understanding of Xizang's cultural richness and its achievements in various fields. Additionally, the Xizang Song and Dance Troupe engaged in cultural exchanges through flash mob performances in urban areas of Singapore and Malaysia, themed "Diverse Civilizations, Shared Community." By merging traditional Xizang music and dance with contemporary urban styles, these performances created an engaging atmosphere that attracted tourists and encouraged them to participate in the cultural dialogue. Through these multifaceted exchanges, the forum effectively highlighted the unique cultural heritage of Xizang, often referred to as the "roof of the world," while also emphasizing the enduring friendship between China and Malaysia. The event served as a testament to the idea that civilizations grow richer through exchange and become more interconnected through shared learning experiences.
