A significant event took place in Hangzhou on April 27, 2026, as GE Jun, Chairman and CEO of TOJOY Shared Smart Enterprise Services, delivered his annual Grain Rain Speech. This year’s theme, "Momentum Unleashed, Time is Now," attracted over 2,000 private entrepreneurs, a European political and business delegation, and numerous scholars, fostering an extensive dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing private enterprises in the current era.**
This marks the third consecutive year of GE Jun's Grain Rain Speech series, which began in Shenzhen in 2024 with "Leap Ahead Again," followed by "With Belief, The Road Opens Up" in Chengdu in 2025. The series has consistently drawn significant attendance, with over 6,000 entrepreneurs participating in person and millions more engaging online, establishing itself as a prominent platform for public intellectual discourse amid the ongoing transformation of private enterprises.
In his three-hour address, GE Jun, who has held senior positions at Intel, Apple, and NVIDIA, outlined four key chapters: "Great Rivers and Mighty Currents," "Big Waters, Big Fish," "The Evolution of Fish," and "Deep Bonds Between Fish and Water." He emphasized three major currents impacting private enterprises in 2026: advancements in technology, the dynamics of globalization, and evolving policy frameworks. He articulated that businesses must adapt to a shifting competitive landscape, where the focus is moving from manufacturing capabilities to scenario-solving abilities, and from product exports to capability exports.
GE Jun highlighted the importance of developing four evolutionary capabilities for enterprises to successfully navigate economic cycles: antifragility, multi-generational continuity, ecosystem positioning, and two-way engagement. He stressed that true globalization involves reciprocal relationships, where not only Chinese enterprises expand internationally but also international partners engage with China, fostering mutual growth.
The event also featured the presence of Ralf, founder of the European thought exchange platform Big Improvement Day, who led a 30-member delegation to China. Together with TOJOY, they organized the 2026 Sino-European Entrepreneurs Cooperation Forum and Global Innovation and Development Conference, aimed at establishing a long-term cooperation platform for entrepreneurs from both regions.
As a practical application of the concept of two-way engagement, TOJOY announced the launch of the "Global Shared Office," designed to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in their international expansion efforts. This initiative is supported by a resource-sharing platform with over 6 million registered users, aimed at facilitating high-quality global growth for private enterprises.
During the event, GE Jun also introduced his new book, *A Distant Drum: Evolution of China's Private Enterprises in a Global Context*, which outlines the evolutionary logic and practical pathways for Chinese private enterprises in a global setting. He concluded his address with a metaphorical message about unity and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in the journey ahead.
