Etihad Airways has revealed plans to initiate three weekly nonstop flights between Abu Dhabi and Luxembourg, starting on October 29, 2026, utilizing the newly introduced A321LR aircraft.
This announcement marks a significant milestone, as Etihad Airways will be the first airline from the Middle East to operate flights to Luxembourg. The commencement of these services will establish a unique direct air link between Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and Luxembourg, a key European hub.
The new route is a response to the increasing demand from travelers in Luxembourg, the Benelux region, as well as neighboring France and Germany, who seek direct access to Abu Dhabi. The flights will be routed to Luxembourg Airport (LUX), offering passengers an opportunity to explore the emirate, known for its rich culture, exceptional hospitality, and favorable climate.
Operating three times a week, the A321LR aircraft will facilitate travel for both business and leisure passengers, thereby enhancing connectivity and fostering stronger economic and cultural relationships between the European Union and the UAE. The service also positions Luxembourg as a strategic gateway for travelers from France, Germany, and Belgium, further expanding Etihad's reach in the European market.
The CEO of Etihad Airways expressed enthusiasm about this new route, highlighting the aircraft's capabilities in providing a premium travel experience and addressing previously underserved markets. The introduction of this service is seen not only as a means of connectivity but also as a way to cultivate new opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange between Europe and the UAE.
This development is part of Etihad's ongoing expansion strategy, with Luxembourg joining the airline's increasingly diverse European network.
