In April 2025, Dubai announced the temporary closure of several popular attractions, which could impact tourist flow in the near future.
Starting May 2025, the famous Dubai Fountain, located at the base of the Burj Khalifa and next to the Dubai Mall, will be closed for five months to undergo major upgrades. Emaar plans to refresh the choreography of the water shows and improve lighting and sound systems to make performances even more spectacular.
Due to extreme summer temperatures and necessary maintenance, the following attractions have been closed since June 2024:
Dubai Safari Park: Closed starting June 2, 2024.
Dubai Miracle Garden: Closed on June 2, 2024.
Al Wasl Plaza (Expo 2020 site): Closed for the entire summer season.
Global Village: Concluded its season on April 28, 2024.
These closures are part of regular seasonal measures aimed at protecting visitors and maintaining infrastructure during the extreme heat.
Despite these temporary closures, Dubai still offers a wide variety of attractions:
Burj Khalifa: Observation decks on the world’s tallest building.
Dubai Mall: One of the largest shopping centers, featuring an aquarium and an ice rink.
Museum of the Future: Interactive exhibits on science and technology.
Dubai Marina: Waterfront promenades and canal cruises.
Travelers planning a trip to Dubai are advised to consider seasonal closures and check ahead for updates on the status of major attractions.
